E.W. Hornung's gentleman thief, Raffles, first appeared in The Strand Magazine, and was their second most popular character behind only Sherlock Holmes. His adventures were an instant hit and he very soon broke into the movies (as indeed he broke into most places), appearing in several films, most notably being portrayed by David Niven, before moving to both radio and television, where he was memorably played by the perfectly cast Anthony Valentine. Raffles possesses a slight Robin Hood complex, stealing only from those he considers deserving. An anti-hero rather than a villain, Raffles still strikes a chord with 21st Century audiences, with new radio adventures appearing regularly on Seattle-based Jim French Productions' Imagination Theatre radio drama series.

Our Raffles collection consists of all three of E.W. Hornung's Raffles short story collections plus the novel, Mr Justice Raffles.
