Sherlock Holmes On Stage

Sherlock Holmes: A Play In Four Acts

The Speckled Band

An Evening With Sherlock Holmes

Long before Sherlock Holmes became a fixture in radio, TV and movies, he appeared in a number of theatrical productions. The most celebrated of these was William Gillette's 1899 play, Sherlock Holmes, which was adapted from a script written by Holmes' creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The script for that play is reproduced in this volume, along with Conan Doyle's own scripts, An Evening With Sherlock Holmes and The Speckled Band, the latter of which adapted his favourite Holmes short story for the theatre.

The book contains brief notes on the productions alongside the full scripts of the plays, which are a delight for Holmes fans.
